Anthropic has launched two new beta tools for Claude: Claude Dashboards, which turns a company’s own data into live dashboards from a plain-language request, and Claude Motion, which turns reports and ideas into short animated explainers. At the same time, Docs, Slides and Design are leaving beta and opening up to every Claude plan, including Free.

Dashboards is in beta on paid plans. Motion is in beta on Team and Enterprise only. Anthropic says people have made more than 45 million docs, decks and designs in Claude since those three tools arrived in every conversation.

Dashboards that show their working

Claude Dashboards connects to a data platform such as Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks or Snowflake. You ask a question in plain language, and Claude pulls the answer from your data, builds the dashboard and keeps it current as the data changes. It also works with Claude’s other connectors, so you can ask for a dashboard of your Salesforce opportunities, for example.

The pitch is transparency. Click any number and you see the SQL query behind it, or you can ask Claude to explain it. Each chart shows when its data was last refreshed. Anthropic pitches it for quick, exploratory questions rather than as a replacement for business intelligence software.

When a question needs deeper work, a dashboard can be sent straight to Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog or Sigma. Looker, monday.com and Tableau are listed as coming soon.

Motion animates your own work, with no generated footage

Claude Motion builds a short animation from a prompt that plays like a video: Anthropic’s examples are a 30-second explainer of a quarterly report for an all-hands meeting, an animated chart for a board deck and a product walkthrough for onboarding customers. You can tweak it in an editor or ask Claude to change it, then download it as an MP4 file.

Motion does not use a video generation model. Claude writes code that animates your text, charts, shapes and images, so every word, number and timing can be changed, and there is no generated footage and no AI-generated people. Finished animations can be opened in Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI or Runway, with Canva and Captions to follow.

For Enterprise organisations, both new tools are off by default: admins switch them on under Organization settings, then Artifacts.

Docs, Slides and Design drop the beta label

Anthropic listed what has changed to make Docs, Slides and Design ready for everyday work:

  • Enterprise controls: artifacts now support customer-managed encryption keys (CMEK), and admins choose which artifact templates their organisation can use.
  • Shared editing: a team and Claude can work on the same doc, deck, design or dashboard.
  • Wider sharing: slides, designs, dashboards and animations can be shared outside the organisation, or with anyone who has the link, if the admin allows it.
  • Better exports: PowerPoint and PDF downloads match the editor, and decks go straight to Google Slides as editable files.
  • Mobile editing: docs, decks and designs can be changed in the Claude app.

For Enterprise customers, Docs, Slides and Design switch on by default on October 15, or admins can turn them on now. The Google Slides export sits alongside the Claude add-on for Google Docs, Sheets and Slides that Anthropic put into beta two days earlier.

Claude Design’s standalone site closes on December 14

Claude Design began at its own address, claude.ai/design, and since September 16 has also worked inside every Claude conversation. Anthropic says running both slows fixes, so the standalone site will close on December 14.

Design systems can be moved over now from the Artifacts page in Claude with a “Migrate team design systems” button, which brings across every design system in the organisation in one go. Projects keep working in the standalone version until it closes, but chats and comments there won’t come across, and public links to standalone projects will stop working on that date. Anthropic has published a migration guide.

Where it’s available

Anthropic’s announcement gives no regional limits, so the tools follow Claude’s own supported countries list, which covers the US, Canada, the UK, the EU, Australia and many other markets but not mainland China. Docs, Slides and Design work on every plan, including Free. Dashboards needs a paid plan, and Motion needs Team or Enterprise. Anthropic hasn’t published accuracy figures for Dashboards.

Why it matters

Anthropic is pushing Claude further into the everyday office work of reports, charts and presentations, the same ground Google is chasing with its new Gemini agent and OpenAI with ChatGPT Work. Showing the query behind every number is a sensible answer to the obvious worry about AI-built dashboards, but it only helps if people actually click.
