A Taiwanese developer has used AI to build a Grand Theft Auto clone set on the streets of Taipei, and it has become one of the most talked-about games online in Taiwan. Taipei GTA is free, runs in a web browser and, according to its creator, cost more than US$10,000 in AI tokens to make.
Brandon Thomas, the developer behind the AI art studio ArtCraft, has released seven free, open-source desktop apps modelled on Adobe’s best-known software, from a Photoshop look-alike called PhotoCraft to stand-ins for Premiere Pro, Lightroom and After Effects. ArtCraft’s own records on GitHub show that most of the code was written with Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5.5.
