No, Meta’s Muse AI isn’t available in the UK yet. Muse launched in the US on September 8, 2026 and in Canada on September 18, and Meta hasn’t announced a UK release date. Here’s everything we know about when Muse could come to Britain, why it isn’t here already, what it’s likely to cost, and what you can use in the meantime.

What is Meta Muse?

Muse is Meta’s personal AI agent (here’s our full explainer). Unlike a normal chatbot, which just answers questions, Muse can do things for you: browse the web, fill in forms, book appointments, handle customer service chats and shop across connected apps and websites, according to Meta. It runs on its own isolated cloud computer and asks for your approval before sensitive actions like sending emails or making purchases. It reached No. 1 on the US App Store within about 10 days of launch.

Muse is also the AI inside the Muse Charm, the keychain-sized gadget Meta unveiled at its Connect event this week.

Which countries is Muse available in?

• United States: since September 8, 2026, on iPhone, Android and the web at muse.ai.
• Canada: since September 18, 2026, iPhone in Canada reported.
• UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia and elsewhere: not yet.

When Muse reached Canada, Meta hinted at more to come, posting on X: “Made it to Canada. Where to next? 👀” It didn’t say which country would be next.

When is the Muse UK release date?

There isn’t one yet. Meta hasn’t announced when Muse will launch in the UK, and anyone giving you a firm date is guessing. But there are clues.

Signs the UK could be next:

• Muse reached its second country just 10 days after launch, so Meta is clearly expanding quickly.
• The UK is one of the biggest English-speaking markets, a natural next step after the US and Canada.
• Meta is already launching new hardware here. At Connect 2026 it put its Ray-Ban Display glasses on sale in the UK, and Muse is coming to Meta’s glasses soon.

Signs it could take a while:

• Meta’s regular chatbot, Meta AI, launched in the US in 2023 but didn’t reach the UK until March 2025, after Meta worked through privacy concerns with the UK’s data regulator.
• Muse handles far more personal data than Meta AI, including your email, calendar, accounts and payments.

Our best guess: a UK launch in the coming months is plausible, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it slipped into 2027.

Why isn’t Muse available in the UK?

Meta hasn’t said why Muse launched in North America first, but these are the most likely reasons.

1. UK data protection law

Muse is designed to work with a lot of personal data. In the UK, that falls under UK GDPR, which sets strict rules on consent, profiling and sensitive information, enforced by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Meta has clashed with these rules before: in 2024, it paused plans to train its AI on UK users’ posts after the ICO asked it to review them, and only went ahead after making changes, IT Pro reported.

2. Meta already treats the UK differently on AI

When Meta started using people’s Meta AI chats to target ads in December 2025, it left out the UK, along with the EU and South Korea. UK users can also object to their data being used for AI training in a way Americans can’t.

3. An agent that spends your money

Muse books, buys and sends things for you, and its shopping partners so far are mostly US retailers, TechCrunch reports. A UK version needs British retailers, payment options and consumer protections.

4. US first is the norm

Big tech companies usually launch in the US first to test demand and scale up their servers. Muse is also still getting major features, like Mac support and smart glasses integration.

How much will Muse cost in the UK?

Meta hasn’t announced UK pricing. In the US, Muse has three plans, according to reports:

• Free: a weekly usage allowance at no cost
• Power: $20 a month, with more usage
• Maximum: $100 a month, for heavy users

The paid plans give you more usage rather than extra features. If Meta follows its usual approach, UK prices are likely to be similar in pounds, but we’ll confirm when they’re announced. Mark Zuckerberg has said Meta expects to make money over time by “taking a small fee from transactions” Muse completes, TechCrunch reported.

Can I use Muse in the UK with a VPN?

Not officially, and we don’t recommend trying. Meta only offers Muse in supported countries, which for now means the US and Canada. Using a VPN to get around that may break Meta’s terms, and because Muse connects to your email, accounts and payment details, it’s not a service you want running on a workaround.

What can UK users use instead?

• Meta AI is available in the UK on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger. It can answer questions and create content, but can’t carry out tasks for you like Muse.
• ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are all available in the UK and can research, draft emails and work with your files and connected apps.

Will Muse be private in the UK?
